The "Wide Awake" songstress has rejected a $20 million offer to appear on singing competition as the newest judge, turning down a spot at the panel between returning mentor Randy Jackson and newcomer Mariah Carey. Why did Perry opt out of the opportunity? Perry's is currently tied up and her schedule made it impossible for her to do the show, according to TMZ. Though the show upped their previous $18 million offer in an effort to encourage Perry to accept the gig, the singer reportedly rejected the deal as she thought the job wasn't a right career choice for her at the moment. "I live to mentor, so my heart is much more open to the idea of that than even 10 years ago when I, perhaps, wasn't in a position to be able to offer much advice, solicited or otherwise," she says. It's been reported that Nicki Minaj, Enrique Iglesias, Nick Jonas are also in talks to join the show, though only Carey's involvement has been officially confirmed by the studio.
