Celebuzz Joan Rivers Calls Rihanna an 'Idiot' For Still Loving Chris Brown http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-08-25/joan-rivers-calls-rihanna-an-idiot-for-still-loving-chris-brown/ Aug 25th 2012, 16:41 Joan Rivers had a few interesting words for Rihanna on Friday night, nearly one week after the singer's revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which she admitted she still loved ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. "Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her," Rivers, 79, wrote on Twitter. "Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he'll hit you again. Read the statistics," she continued, before also inviting the singer to appear on Fashion Police. How did Rihanna react? Rihanna, 24, was quick to respond, posting an excerpt from Proverbs 15:4 on her Instagram account. "CONTROL YOUR SPEECH! #devotionnavy," the singer wrote, highlighting two lines from the book. Rihanna also wrote "Slap on some diapers" on Twitter, but it's unclear whether or not that was also directed at Rivers. Brown, now 23, pleaded guilty to the assault charge and completed six months of community service and five years of probation. "I think that he was the love of my life . . . he was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way," Rihanna told Winfrey in the interview. "It's awkward because I still love him," Rihanna said of her current "friendship" with Brown. "My stomach drops, and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me," she added. All eyes will be on Rihanna next Sunday, when the annual MTV Video Music Awards are handed out. Up for five awards, the "We Found Love" singer is also scheduled to perform on the show. Brown, meanwhile, is nominated for three awards, including Best Male Video. No official word yet on whether Brown will actually be at the event, despite recent speculation that two will reunite on stage alongside Rihanna's former rumored fling, Drake.
