Pascual Perez, who pitched in the Major Leagues for 11 seasons and played for such teams as the Montreal Expos and New York Yankees, was stabbed to death during a home invasion in the Dominican Republic. He was 55. Multiple news outlets have confirmed the death, with some speculating Perez was targeted for the $2,000 MLB pension he recently received. Perez, who also spent time with the Pirates and Braves, posted a 3.43 ERA in 1983 and made the All-Star team that season. At the time of his murder, he was receiving dialysis for liver failure.
